Your Feet And Your Health

Your body is a complex organism that is composed of many parts. Each one can be interconnected to the other. That is why your health condition may show signs on other parts of your body. When it comes to your feet, here are some signs that can tell you a lot about your current health status.

You often experience foot cramps.

Foot cramps may happen now and then when the blood circulation may be blocked or you may have some nerve issues. But when you have frequent foot cramps, then it may be a sign of something else. It can be a result of a nutritional deficiency such as a lack of potassium, calcium or magnesium. It might also be a result of dehydration. Try to drink plenty of water, especially if you are doing some exercises to keep fit. Lack of water in the body can lead to muscle cramping.

Feet and toes are hairless.

Your toes may naturally have hair growing out at the base. While it may be quite bothersome when wearing sandals, the sudden disappearance of toe hairs may indicate a problem with your circulation. The sudden baldness may show that your feet are not getting enough blood flow in order to keep the hair on your toes. It might also indicate that your heart may not be strong enough to pump enough blood to the feet.

Your feet always feel cold.

While getting cold feet can be due to the cold weather, it can also be caused by something else. If you notice that your feet are always cold to the touch, even when the weather is hot, it may be caused by a sluggish thyroid gland. You may be experiencing hypothyroidism especially if you also have unexplained weight gain, hair loss, and chronic fatigue.
